In a heartwarming display of support for education, Dr. Oluwadare Owolabi, a committed philanthropist and advocate for youth development, has awarded scholarships worth N1.7 million to 17 exceptional students across three secondary schools in Ekiti State.
Each student received a N100,000 scholarship grant, in recognition of their outstanding academic performance in key subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science, Economics, and Mathematics. The beneficiaries were selected from Igogo Commercial High School (Moba LGA), Ayede Grammar School (Oye LGA), and Odo Oro High School (Ikole LGA).
The awards were presented during the 2025 edition of Dr. Owolabi’s Annual Academic Scholarship Ceremony, held on Thursday at Odo Oro-Ekiti, in Ikole Local Government Area.
A Legacy of Giving Back
Speaking at the well-attended event, Dr. Owolabi explained that the initiative is part of his personal commitment to promoting academic excellence and investing in the future of Ekiti youth.
“This scholarship is a way of giving back to society, especially by rewarding hardworking students,” he said. “It is also my own way of supporting the tremendous work being done by our Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, in the area of education and youth empowerment.”
